Our client is a very reputable and established MNC with a global presence. An opening is now available for a Senior Analyst to join its Information Service team. You will provide data, information, and advice and business intelligence on transactions, demand, prices, customers and products to key decision makers within the sales team. You will ensure the data entered into key source systems is validated; there are proper processes in place and ensures the data warehouse accurately reflects the Sales business requirements.
1. Data Management
- Work with Systems manager to define/ update the data entry requirements in all source systems so that all Auction Sales reporting needs are met. Ensure all changes required to source systems are carried out so that data entry fields and data entry standards accurately reflect the evolving business need.
- Ensure reported results reconcile and balance to source system data. Identify, correct and communicate errors to Operations, Sales team or the IT BI team where necessary.
- Monitor and update additional databases not supported as a source system.
- Maintain accurate Customer Databases for Source Systems in Salesforce, and other data-warehouse systems.
2. Results, Demand, Price, Customer and CRM reporting
- AS Management Reporting - deliver the definition, design, development and publishing of the Sales reporting suite to meet evolving user needs. Configure changes to the data warehouse and front-end reporting suite to deliver efficient and effective report content. Engage with report users to ensure maximum value is derived from these reports.
- Reporting to sales and management – define, design, and develop timely and accurate demand and pricing reports as required by the Pricing Committee and Market update sessions. Furnish reports to HQ and senior management.
- Deliver the timely and accurate delivery of price data to Pricing & Planning and Commercial colleagues, assisting as required with interpretation.
- Deliver the publishing of the Auction Sales reporting Suite to meet AS reporting deadlines. Work with BUK BI team to configure the changes to the data warehouse and front-end reporting suite to deliver efficient and effective report content.
- Leverage existing technology to deliver automated reporting e.g. dashboards. Self Service Reporting.
3.Models / Tools (using VBA and other tools)
- Define, design, develop and publish supporting models/tools, to meet Sales and Management decision support. Engage with model/tool users to ensure maximum value is derived.
- Ensure support process and documentation is maintained.
- Leverage existing technology, VBA to deliver automated reporting e.g. dashboards. Self Service Reporting.
4. MicroStrategy Reporting
- Define, design and develop working alongside the dedicated UK BI team resource a set of self-service reports/dashboards to meet current and evolving business needs.
- Provide maintenance and support of existing MicroStrategy reporting suite.
- MicroStrategy software expert in Auction Sales.
5. New Insight Analytics and decision support
Undertake ad hoc analysis as required to support strategic decisions and short term tactical decisions.
6. Release Management/ Project Support
Requirements
- A degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Business, Computer Science or similar disciplines with a focus on data-heavy modules
- 5 plus years in Analytical / management reporting role.
- Demonstrated experience working with BI software is essential. MicroStrategy experience is highly preferred.
- High proficiency in MS Excel / VBA / PowerPoint is essential.
- Experience working with relational databases from multi sources of data.
- Strong Analytical mind-set with highly developed attention to detail.
- Experience with ThinkCell (but not a must)
- Familiarity CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) is useful (but not a must)
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills that enable regular communication in the appropriate style for a multinational and multi-cultural audience.
- Can-do attitude and strong problem solving ability. Able to prioritise and work effectively to meet deadlines
