SEA FC/FD with a MNC (based in Tuas)

Our client is a listed global MNC which is growing in presence. It is now looking to hire a finance business partnering professional to be the SEA FC/FD supporting a trading set up covering Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand etc. In this role, you will manage a small team and report in to the MD (straight line) and the APAC FD (dotted line). You will work very closely with the MD and act as a balance to his business and commercial focus. We are seeking a solid business partner who can provide analysis and advice and run a strong and effective SEA finance function. 


Key functions: 

  • Ensure on time and accurate accounting closing and reporting 
  • Prepare detailed financial reports. Analyze and interpret operating results, investigating variances, with recommendations for action 
  • Lead monthly financial reviews with local and regional management teams 
  • Work closely with MD for effective strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting 
  • Work closely with key managers to drive key initiatives crucial to the success of the business 
  • Work with different functions to improve policies and processes for better internal controls and/or efficiency 
  • Monitor accounts receivable and manage working capital 
  • Ensure compliance with rules and regulations including local GAAP, IFRS, Tax, Transfer Pricing and foreign exchange control 
  • Working with internal and external auditors, tax advisors, bankers, tax authorities, lawyers and government organizations 

  
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification. 
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience with recent years in large or medium d MNCs 
  • Strong leadership skills. Results driven and strong business partnering and business acumen skills. 
  • Regional experience in SE Asia 
  • Strong knowledge in IFRS and tax 
  • Hyperion / Cognos type consolidation and reporting software 
  • Hands-on with the ability to operate in a less automated work environment 
  • Experience doing a ERP system rollout will be useful (but not a must) 
  • Knowledge of trading costing is useful (but not a msut) 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and work with all levels 
  • Ability to develop and run a strong and effective finance team 
  • Added industry exposure covering industrial or engineering is useful (but not a must) 
  • Self driven with good people skills. Ability to meet deadlines with strong organizational skills. Good with details and embrace continuous improvement 
  • Open to being based in Tuas
