Treasury Controller

Our client is a top notch and international MNC. For this role, you will be supporting the marketing business with a global remit. You play a leadership role and manging  a team of 2 and assisting the Marketing Treasurer in managing cash flow, margining and borrowing requirements and ISDA negotiations with relationship banks

 

WORK REQUIREMENTS:

 

Cash  and collateral management

  • Supervises the timeous, controlled execution of settlements from trading, margining and trade finance activity retained and managed by Treasury for core commodities.
  • Formulation of cash and funding plans for the Marketing businesses based on cash flow forecasts received from Financial Reporting team.
  • Oversees the daily confirmation of trades within the required timelines to ensure trade matching for the purposes of risk management and acts as first escalation point for Trade Support Analyst.
  • Margin administration for trading position with clearing partners and other counterparties. Ensure accuracy of margin calculation by the banks and ensure prompt payment and refund.
  • Negotiation and arrangement of new collateral management requirements with various counterparties, engaging legal support as appropriate and establishing new processes
  • Oversight of confirmations activity and Trade Support Analyst, ensuring accuracy of inputs into settlements and margining processes and responsibility for ensuring processes are in place for the regulatory reporting of required trades.

 

Transactional and trade finance and bank management

  • Facilitate the KYC process with transactional and trade finance banks when required
  • Negotiation for new bank lines and related arrangement of ISDA’s, trade finance borrowing and margining facilities from banks
  • Reporting on banking ancillary business to Group Treasury and other local reporting
  • Aiding the Marketing Treasurer in managing transactional and trade finance banking relationships
  • Monitor banking limits and ensure compliance with Group and marketing company treasury policies

 

FX risk management (minor part)

  • Monitor exposure of marketing BU to various currencies and the associated fluctuation. Execution of hedging in Singapore time when required to maintain margin.

 

 

 

Key requirements:

 

  • Excellent academic credentials in Business or Finance, ideally Bachelor degree of around 7 to 10 years of work experience
  • Working experience in Treasury or trade finance function in reputable organisation of min 7 years
  • Cash management experience is mandatory
  • Experience in the arrangement or operation of borrowing facilities is mandatory
  • ISDA experience is mandatory
  • Experience in Trade finance is  beneficial (but not a must)
  • Experience in managing margin payment or refund with Broking houses is beneficial (but not a must)
  • Exposure to a commodity trading environment is beneficial (but not a must)
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to interface successfully at multiple organisation levels
  • Self starter who is driven
  • Good track record of interfacing with and influencing senior executives
  • Results oriented, capable of holding self and others to account on delivery
  • Ability to understand perspective of multiple stakeholders, and successfully influence / challenge the opinions of colleagues and senior managers
  • Constructively engage stakeholders to a common cause through developing mutually beneficial solutions and proposals
