AD/Director Public Affairs role with an international Financial Institution

Our client is a renowned and global financial institution.

 

In this role, you will support the firm’s institutional positioning, and manage stakeholder relationships with media on institutional issues.  You will also be part of a team working to  support the firm’s investment teams and other areas of the business with transactions and issues support, including media positioning, providing counsel on public reputation and communications issues.  

 

You will be part of a team that manages/promotes the firm’s brand including through the appropriate use of its corporate identity.  You will also be part of a team that develops guidelines for the positioning of the brand and increasing its international presence. In addition, you will work on significant institutional communications and stakeholder engagement activities.

 

The role and key responsibilities

 

The selected candidate will play a key role in the team, leading and owning the corporate identity guidelines for the company.

 

He/she should have well-developed media engagement skills and be comfortable interacting with media at the highest levels in Singapore and globally.

 

The role requires an experienced communicator, with solid articulate presentation skills and who writes very well.

 

As the role oversees corporate identity, some experience in graphic design would be an advantage.

 

 

Requirements and key attributes:

 

  • Degree in Business, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related field;
  • Significant experience (as a guide: minimum five years) in public communications, marketing, advertising, brand management and/or media relations;
  • Experience at managing communications (including media and management counsel) around complex issues;
  • Adept at managing internal and external relationships, with credibility and regard for responsiveness;
  • Proven discipline leadership experience and executive maturity;
  • Experience in graphic design or creative concept development would be an advantage, but not essential.  Likewise, experience managing vendors on such projects would also be an advantage.
  • Excellent communicator with outstanding oral and written presentation skills, able to form conviction, but be flexible enough to roll with changes in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment;
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to sensitivities;
  • Proven ability to manage and oversee the work of other parties including vendors;
  • Outstanding team player with the confidence to teach, guide and supervise more junior staff while maintaining an executive presence to support the business leadership.
  • Bilingual English/Mandarin would be an advantage (given the international geographical coverage of the role including China)
