Sales Operations Manager with renowned Base Metal Commodity MNC

Our client is an international and renowned MNC which is a clear market leader in its field. It is now looking to recruit for a seasoned sales operations manager to manage a team.

 

Reporting in to the Head of Planning, Logistics & Sales Operations, you will manage a team and cover the middle and back office functions supporting the firm’s base and metal division including both physical and paper trading activities. Key job scope include Sales Operations, Contracts administration, Invoicing, Customer relationship matters.

Key functions:

 

a)     Design/ Optimize the Sales Ops and Contract Admin Operating Model, Asia

  • Design the sales operations Asia team, its operating model and procedures, for Base Metals trading activities and for the introduction of Platinum Group Metal (PGM) invoicing and contract admin
  • Check against business realities and optimize the system and performance on an ongoing basis
  • Provide improvement recommendations and ensure their implementation (input into the decision making process)

 

b)    Plan team resourcing and lead customer interactions in multi-industry context

  • Manage team resources to address several trade-offs between various systems such as a) management of customer claims and compensation, b) payments to 3rd party suppliers, c) interface with banks for the financing of working capital, d) timely delivery of invoices
  • Manage customer interactions of the team in a multi-industry context.

 

 

  • Unlock cash from the business and design and support WC management/financing program Design and project manage work with shipping lines, banks, sales ops teams in UK/Chile/Brazil, in order to execute working capital financing options and accelerate cash collection from customers

 

c)     Governance

  • To design/implement the governance/controls recommendations provided by different stakeholders and also test these recommendations against business realities.
  • Ensure sales operations is delivered in alignment with Group Business Integrity and Governance policies.

 

 

d)    Build and implement an effective sourcing structure and authorise and control payments to 3rd party suppliers and service providers

 

e)     Customer Services - Manage customer interactions and optimise logistics results within a multi-industry context

 

f)      Supervise the administration and execution of sales/purchase contracts

 

g)    Management of payment terms for all sales operations, ensuring compliance with Risk Policy

 

h)    Leadership authority to Sales Operations Specialists and Contract Administrators

 

Requirements:

  • Min 8 to 10 years of  sales operations or marketing-middle and back office experience gained within a commodity MNC
  • Knowledge of base metal products is a must
  • Knowledge of international seaborne logistics and related processes.
  • Proven track record of capability to work independently and manage a team of sales ops and contract administrators in a Base Metals environment (specifically Cu and Ni).
  • Track record of adherence to policies within complex organisations and strong at influencing internal stakeholders, while developing a new team in an environment with increasing level of complexity.
  • Proven leadership skills to manage a team
  • Strong attention to details and yet possess a strategic mind-set
  • Strong communicator
