Our client is a top notch and international name within the professional service sector.
For this role, you act as a strategic finance advisor and business partner to the SEA practice (covering Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia & Thailand). The role reports directly to the FD and is responsible for the oversight of the financial operations of the SEA business and the management of the Finance Team which comprise 5-6 qualified accounting professionals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You are expected to be heavily engaged with various stakeholders (i.e. SEA Partner manager group, SEA department managers, Global/Regional finance counterparts in US and other Asia Pac countries, Legal, HR)
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Independently drive, develop and manage the annual planning process (Plan, 3 Year Plan and Forecast)
- Work closely with Cost Centre Managers on generating their Plans and performing regular cost review to ensure financial objectives are met
- Monitor performance against plan through proactive oversight and communication. Preparation of monthly variance analysis for submission to FP&A.
- Budget inputs into the system and preparation of management reports
- Pipeline, Pricing & Revenue Management
- Support the FD in the review of pricing and commercial terms (e.g. supportingrequests for proposals, MSAs, pricing negotiations, case team pricing and letter of engagement development, bill rates review)
- Oversee the revenue analysts to ensure timely pipeline management and proper recognition of revenue and timely, accurate revenue reporting.
- Assist case management with pricing matters
- Payroll, Financial Accounting & Compliance
o Understanding the firm’s accounting policies and process to effectively oversee the monthly /year and closing activities (financial and management aspects) of the entire team
o Have a deep understanding of the payroll operations/ implications within the SEA cluster and be willing to undertake some payroll operations (e.g. regulatory requirements, transfer payroll, tax equalisation, treaty exemptions etc.).
o Ensure local entities comply with all local regulatory authorities and corporate policies (e.g. annual tax return, GST/VAT, payroll reporting, external financial and tax audit etc.), through comprehensive knowledge of local office financial position, local accounting rules and regulations
o Pro-active support of regional/global functions and timely responses to regional/global requests for information e.g. revenue forecast, cash flow reporting, monthly variance analysis and year-end reporting
- Ensure the Headcount reporting system is done correctly. Liaise with HR and Financial Controller to ensure Headcount assumptions and pyramid shape reporting and projections are in line with Plan

- Overall joint accountability and leadership of the SEA finance team with the FD
qualifications/Capabilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and either CPA/CA qualification, audit experience is preferred.
- Professional service industry exposure is preferred but this is not a must
- Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 4 years managing a team and experience working within a MNC
- Experience in a high results focused culture
- Strong analytical and FP&A skills
- Strong system skills including proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, data base accounting and financial reporting software essential (experience in developing macros and excel automation/coding is a plus).
