VP Corporate Treasury role with global conglomerate

  • Strong Fx Management experience critical
  • Prior experience covering Fx Dealing in Banking is useful but not a must

Our client is an established and global company (based at Western part of Singapore). For this role, one critical aspect is that you will oversee its Fx hedging and transactions to support its global operations. In addition, you will also cover liquidity management and cash management, and also liaise with banks on loans matters.

 

You will be heading up the Treasury Department reporting to the Head of Finance. Key functions:

 

Formulate/ Manage Fx and interest rate Treasury Strategy

  • Direct global treasury policy, manage strategy relating to FX hedging arising from the exposure of the company’s numerous global contracts
  • Oversee FX and interest rate transactions, ST loans, LT loans, bank guarantees, fixed deposits and interest rate swaps
  • Review trading process and guidelines on the foreign and domestic currency market
  • Collaborate with senior management in formulating and investment strategy based on financial markets situation

 

Liquidity Management and Cash Management

  • Develop strategy for optimising cash balances through cash management, cash pooling, yield optimisation, intercompany borrowing and lending
  • Oversee the management of the company’s liquidity risk and manages liquidity planning, monitoring and liquidity profiling
  • Oversee the preparation of daily funds statement based on the funds requirement of all large value cheques issued
  • Monitor bank statements to assess funds, deciding on the need for borrowings (e.g. ST and LT borrowings along with the average rate of borrowings, domestic and internationally placed funds with the average rate of return, net borrowings, etc.)

Liaising with the bank on ST loans and LT loans

  • Oversee  limits with banks and credit ratings of banks , validating forecasted cash flow positions and borrowing needs on a rolling 12-month basis
  • Establish banking relationships and leverage on the company’s credit standing in evaluating fund raising options and project financing
  • Ensure that there are no idle funds and maximum returns on the funds invested.
  • Oversee transaction costs and investment portfolio 
  • Oversee negotiation of interest rates and tenure of loan with various banks. Oversees preparation of drawdown letters and ensures necessary approvals are obtained from management
  • Optimise the company’s monetary funds, ensuring sufficient cash flow and meeting the short term funding needs of the co at the best possible rate.
  • Maintain company’s healthy credit standing, reduce funding costs and ensure sufficient funds for operational and capital investment requirements


Team Management

  • Manage a small team of 2, and lead/develop team members to achieve work objectives

 

To qualify:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Corporate Finance, Finance or Accountancy
  • Min 15 years of experience or more in Treasury function gained with larger companies or MNCs
  • Has excellent Fx management experience supporting regional/global operations
  • Prior FX management experience gained as a FX dealer in banking is useful but not a must
  • Also has strong exposure to cash management and interest rates
  • Exposure to negotiation of loans with banks is useful to have
  • Open to being based in Western part of Singapore
  • Has supervisory experience
  • Has strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to present to the Board of Directors.
