Marketing Manager for renowned commodity MNC

Our client is a renowned and global MNC (based in town). For this role, you report to the CEO of the business.

The key focus of the role is to develop/ implement marketing strategies in support of customer relationship management and sales objectives and new lines of business, organising and coordinating marketing activities and communications to customers and other stakeholders.

In this role, you are playing a standalone role and will work with external marketing providers. Key Stakeholders you will work with is the Senior mgt team, Sales team and Head of sales and marketing as well as Marketing in HQ.

Key Responsibilities/Activities

1. Marketing Strategy

Define the nature and sequence of marketing activities the business should undertake to support its customer acquisition, retention and growth objectives. Work closely with sales team to tailor marketing activities to reflect specific market differences.

Define resource requirements to implement the strategy, ROI and other success criteria and risks, updating approach in line with annual planning and forecasting cycles.

Manage the implementation of marketing activities in accordance with time, cost and quality parameters, monitoring results.

 

2. Marketing communications

Plan and implement the global marketing communications to drive greater awareness and understanding of the customer value proposition, highlighting features and benefits to existing and prospective buyers e.g. advertising in trade journals.

Work closely with colleagues to define and implement the customer communications required to support optimum buyer participation at all auction sales events.Organise communication plans to support the launch of enhancements to the existing customer value proposition and the launch of new innovations.

Organise dedicated marketing campaigns to optimise the sales of commodity products, and coordinating service providers as required (photographers, technical files, printers etc.).

Manage the production and distribution of marketing materials such as brochures, adverts, office branding and Website content, ensuring consistency across medium, and alignment with the group’s brand guidelines.

Maintain communications channels, ensuring web presence is up to date and maximised.

Ensure Sales Team alignment and consistent delivery of on message communications to global client base.

 

3. Information Management

Conduct market research as relevant, supporting both the Head of Sales and Head of Commercial in evolving customer acquisition in emerging markets of India and China.

Monitor market trends, competitor trends and customer feedback and adjust communications accordingly.

 

4.  Reporting & Forecasting

Evaluate and report on marketing campaign effectiveness.

Evaluate and report on customer reaction to the core and new proposition developments.

 

5. Expertise Development

•Bring marketing expertise, knowledge, and best practices to Sales in order to support policy shaping, strategic direction and key decisions. 

•Monitor and utilise changing trends in communication media and message delivery

•Ensure sales team develop understanding of best practice marketing processes and are supported at each stage of message delivery

 

Requirements:

  • Min 5 years of more related marketing experience some of which is gained in a MNC environment
  • Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating marketing strategies, preferably in a B2B environment
  • Has exposure to digital marketing
  • A record of achievement in implementation of communication campaigns and maintaining a company’s brand reputation.
  • Ability to understand and explain a customer value proposition to internal and external stakeholders, articulating benefits to existing and prospective customers.
  • Understanding of general business and finance, in particular Net Present Value calculations and marketing metrics.
  • Proven ability in handling suppliers, negotiating and communicating effectively across a broad range of stakeholders from board level to customers.
  • Polished and strong in written and Spoken English
  • Knowledge of Sales Force CRM system an advantage
  • Hands-on
  • Possess strong EQ skills.
